Which Schonstedt locator do you need?
Finding buried iron and steel
Our Schonstedt GA-52Cx, GA-72Cd, GA-92XTd and Spot all find iron and steel and ignore aluminum, brass and copper. The GA-52Cx is the two-knob stick, and the Spot is a lighter push-button version of it. The GA-72Cd adds a screen with signal strength and polarity, and the GA-92XTd slides shut from 26 to 15.5 inches.
Rex and u-Locate for buried lines
The Schonstedt Rex and u-Locate are receivers for tracing buried pipe and cable. Arrows point you to the line, one button gives a depth reading to about 19 feet, and both pick up live power cables without a transmitter. Transmitters are sold separately.
Warranty and help after the sale
Schonstedt gives its magnetic locators a 7-year limited warranty. The Rex has 3 years, and the u-Locate has 1 year that can be extended to 3. When a unit needs work, call us and we'll help you sort it out. If it's still under warranty, call us first.

Questions
How much does a Schonstedt locator cost?
Our Schonstedt magnetic locators start at $1,110 for the Spot and run to $1,348 for the GA-72Cd. The u-Locate receiver starts at $1,130 and the Rex receiver is $1,816, with transmitters sold separately.
Is a Schonstedt a metal detector?
People often call it a Schonstedt metal detector, but the GA-52Cx, GA-72Cd, GA-92XTd and Spot are magnetic locators. They find only iron and steel and stay quiet over aluminum, brass and copper.
Does a Schonstedt find copper or plastic pipe?
No. A magnetic locator only finds iron and steel. Trace copper and other metal lines with the Rex or u-Locate and a transmitter, and follow plastic pipe with a sonde pushed through it and the Rex or u-Locate+.
