Schonstedt GA-72Cd price and what's in the box
The Schonstedt GA-72Cd magnetic locator has a screen that shows signal strength and polarity along with the tone. That makes it easier to center on a buried iron object and to find both ends of a pipe. It uses the same rotary knobs as the GA-52Cx in a shorter body.

How to read the GA-72Cd screen
Sweep, then pinpoint
Sweep side to side. Over iron, the tone climbs, the bar graph grows and the number peaks. Hold the locator upright and trace a slow X over the spot to find the highest reading.
Read the polarity
A pipe lying flat reads plus at one end and minus at the other. Two spots with the same sign usually mean two pipes standing upright.
What the GA-72Cd finds, and how deep

- Manhole covers and well casings manhole covers to 8 ft and well casings to 15 ft.

GA-72Cd batteries and warranty
The batteries sit under the electronics cover, and they're the only parts you change yourself. If your GA-72Cd has a serial number below 339698, run it on lithium 9-V batteries, since alkaline cells can throw off the readings. When it needs more than batteries, call us and we'll help you sort it out. For a unit still under warranty, call us first.
