How to put a signal on the line
Clip on where the line comes up
Clip onto the line at a hydrant, gas meter or phone switch box and set the ground stake off to one side. The screen shows the current going on, so you know the hookup is good.
Set it over the line or clamp around it
No access point? Set it on the ground across the line, or close the optional clamp around it. Both run at full power on 33 or 82 kHz.
What the Rex Transmitter does
- Traces pipe and cable water, sewer and gas lines, and electric and telecom cables.
- Checks the line first it tests for voltage before it sends and warns you above 5 V.
- Measures the line AC volts, DC volts and resistance.
